Anesthesia
All surgery requires anesthesia. Cat owners are understandably apprehensive of anesthesia. At Cat Care PC of Rochester Hills, virtually all of our patients are anesthetized with isoflurane, the same inhalant gas used in human medicine. It's safety and absence of side effects is unequalled by any other known anesthetic. Patients are intubated and maintained on an anesthetic machine, and monitored with pulse oximetry by one of our licensed veterinary technicians. In addition to the great safety factor, the recovery from isoflurane is very rapid and the post-operative disorientation associated with other anesthetics is virtually non-existent. At Cat Care PC of Rochester Hills dentistry patients and simple surgeries often go home within an hour after being brought into the hospital. We take every step to ensure your cat will be as comfortable as possible post operatively by using the safest and most effective medications available for pain relief in a quiet, calm environment.
